About Us

Matthew Doyle and James Thomas are the owners and directors of Newport Marine Services and based at the RMYC in Newport and Empire Marina in Bobbin Head.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Matt Doyle has been at the helm of NMS since its founding in 2005. His strong relationships with customers, suppliers, staff, and the RMYC team have been key to the company’s ongoing success, driving its growth and prosperity year after year.

James began his career with an apprenticeship at NMS before moving abroad to establish himself in the world of superyacht vessel management. After several successful years overseas, he returned to Australia and to NMS, taking on a key role within the company. Over time, James transitioned into management and eventually stepped into a director position, bringing valuable experience and leadership to the business.

Jeremy Baxter leads our Bobbin Head workshop, having also started his career with an apprenticeship. Now, with nearly a decade of experience at NMS, he brings specialised training from industry leaders like Mercury and Volvo, combining technical expertise with strong leadership to effectively manage and support our team.

All three bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the pleasure boating industry, supported by a professional team dedicated to delivering quality workmanship and exceptional service.
